KEN CHASIN - WATERCOLOR ARTIST
My introduction to the world of fine arts was at the age of 16 when I studied
figure drawing and still life painting using oils at the Brooklyn Museum.
The Brooklyn Museum is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the U.S.
Upon graduating from college, I relocated to Boston and studied multiple fine art mediums at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. It was here I was introduced to watercolor painting.
Initially I had wanted to be an architect because of my fascination with perspective and symmetry. This fascination carried over into my watercolor painting.
All of my paintings are based on photos I’ve taken on my travels. I am particularly intrigued by water or dockside scenes, bridges and church interiors.
One of my proudest art accomplishments was being one of 14 winners out of over 300 entrants to a nation-wide art calendar contest sponsored by AARP.
My watercolor paintings have been accepted into various art exhibitions here in Virginia and elsewhere. Currently two of my watercolor paintings are on display
at the Boar’s Head Resort Inn in Charlottesville, VA.
