Awards and Honors

  • My watercolor painting of Georgetown, Maine harbor appeared in the 2011 AARP Foundation calendar. This painting was one of the 14 winners out of a total of 300 entries. Over 800,00 copies of the calendar were produced and distributed. and the painting was auctioned off at the 2010 AARP Foundation Conference held in Orlando, Florida.

  •  My painting "Dockside - Mathews, Virginia" was one of the 100 paintings out of 421 submitted by 174 artists  selected for the "Virginia Watercolor Society 39th Annual Exhibition." The exhibition was held from September 7, 2018 to October 7, 2018 at the Olin Hall Galleries in Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.

Dockside - Matthews, VA

  • This same painting was also selected for inclusion in the:
    1) 7th annual "Art Speaks" juried exhibition that was held at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews, VA from April 29 - May 27, 2019 and the
    2) "Sea Of Change” a Mid-Atlantic regional art exhibition hosted by The Virginia Beach Art Center. The exhibition featured some of the best artists from South Carolina to Pennsylvania.  The exhibition ran from September 4 to September 27, 2020.

My painting "Autumn in Culpeper" was selected for inclusion in the 2019 annual Virginia Watercolor Society exhibition that was held at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA from May 25-August 2, 2019.

My painting "Secluded Home" was selected to be exhibited in the "Sea Of Change” art exhibition, a Mid-Atlantic regional art exhibition hosted by The Virginia Beach Art Center. The exhibition featured some of the best artists from South Carolina to Pennsylvania.  The exhibition ran from September 4 to September 27, 2020.

2) “Tribute: A National Juried Exhibition of Paintings that Pay Homage to People, Places, and Things” hosted by the d’Art Center in Norfolk, VA. The art exhibition ran from 4/9/21 – 4/25/21.
3) "H2O Mid-Atlantic" - A Mid-Atlantic Regional exhibition that reflects our relationship to water and is hosted by the Virginia Beach Art Center. Exhibition Dates: June 4 - 27, 2021

Neptune at the Seashore

My watercolor painting "Neptune by the Seashore" was selected for inclusion into the juried art exhibition "Scene: A National Juried Exhibition of Artworks Inspired by Cities, Towns, Landmarks, and Places" hosted by the d'Art Center in Norfolk, VA that ran from Jan. 15, 2022 to Feb. 13, 2022.

The call reached 33 states. 109 artists submitted for a total of 387 submissions. D’Art’s Gallery Manager, and the juror selected 58 pieces, from 44 artists, from 19 states!

My painting "Urbanna, VA Dockside - Dramatic Rendition" was accepted into the Landscapes and Seascapes, 2022 - Online Exhibition hosted by Las Laguna Art Gallery in Laguna, California. The exhibition ran from March 3 to March 31, 2022.

My painting "Urbanna, VA Dockside - Dramatic Rendition" was accepted into the "Art Speaks - Ninth Annual Juried Exhibition" presented by the Bay School Community Art Center in Mathews, VA . The exhibition will run from April 30 - May 30, 2022.

 

My watercolor painting "Urbana Harbor - Sunset Reimagined" was accepted into the national juried exhibition "Oil vs Water" hosted by the d'Art Center located in Norfolk, Virignia.The exhibition call reached 19 states for a total of 218 submissions across the U.S. 45 works from 32 artists and 12 states were selected. The opening reception for the exhibition was February 15, 2024.
